Global Statistics (World Drug Report 2024)

 

  • Overall Drug Use: In 2023, an estimated 316 million people used a drug (excluding alcohol and tobacco), which is 6% of the global population aged 15-64. This is an increase from 5.2% in 2013.

  • Most Common Drugs:

    • Cannabis remains the most widely used drug, with 244 million users in 2023.

    • Opioids are used by 61 million people.

    • Amphetamines are used by 30.7 million people.

    • Cocaine is used by 25 million people.

    • Ecstasy is used by 21 million people.

  • Drug-Related Harms:

    • Cocaine is the world's fastest-growing illicit drug market, with production hitting a new record high of 3,708 tons in 2023.

    • Opioids are the most lethal drug group, causing two-thirds of all drug-related deaths.

  • Substance Use Disorders (SUDs): An estimated 64 million people worldwide suffer from a drug use disorder. However, only about 1 in 11 people with an SUD receive treatment.

United Kingdom Statistics (England and Wales, year ending March 2024)

 

  • Adult Drug Use: 8.8% of adults aged 16 to 59 reported using any drug in the past year, which is approximately 2.9 million people.

  • Cannabis: Cannabis remains the most commonly used drug, with 6.8% of adults aged 16 to 59 reporting use in the past year.

  • Drug-Related Deaths: England and Wales recorded 5,448 drug-related deaths in 2023, an 11% increase from the previous year. Cocaine-related deaths surged by 30% to 1,118.

  • Treatment: Between April 2022 and March 2023, over 290,000 adults were in contact with drug and alcohol services in England. Nearly half of the adults in treatment were there for problems with opiates.

 

 Our first therapy session (ASSESSMENT) will be for 70 minutes which will capture all the necessary information to source all of your issues which will be used to support and create your bespoke treatment plan and you will be escorted through the process with total confidentiality nothing will be discussed without your consent. We also offer 1-1 or group family support sessions with access to ongoing complementary support for the family which is massively supportive and highly suggested to keep the family unit well, also couples therapy is available and also if necessary a home detox service can be arranged for you.

Phase 2: If agreed we will have an Initial 70 minute Assessment to capture all your background information (substances,issues,family, history,mental health(adhd,depression,anxiety etc),employment,health etc ) then once the facts are established a bespoke treatment plan will be drafted up and rest assured our approach is based on strong experience and successful outcomes.

Phase 3:  We will then commence hourly sessions and you will get an excellent understanding of yourself and your addiction/mental health, past and current events and triggers using cbt , motivational and holistic approaches and gaining a crystal clear understanding as to why you are leaning towards addiction/mental health issues and the motives, often unconscious to use a substance or manage the many symptoms mental health issues come with . We will educate you on proven methods and tools to support and manage yourself for the future and we will then signpost you to ongoing complementary support.
