A Trusted Place to Direct Someone Who Needs Support

Addiction can surface in many different professional settings. An employer may become concerned about an employee's drinking, a counsellor may recognise substance use outside their own area of expertise, or a road safety organisation may encounter someone who wants additional help addressing their relationship with alcohol.

Pittmain provides an independent source of specialist addiction support, giving organisations and professionals somewhere appropriate to direct people who want help.

Specialist Addiction Support

Pittmain focuses on supporting individuals affected by addiction and addictive behaviours, providing a dedicated source of help when specialist support may be beneficial.

Independent & Confidential

Individuals can discuss their circumstances privately with James, allowing organisations to recommend external support without expecting their own staff to take on the role of an addiction therapist.

Personalised Approach

Every person's experience of addiction is different. Support is shaped around the individual's circumstances, challenges and goals rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Supporting Different Organisations & Professionals

Different organisations encounter addiction in different circumstances. Pittmain is open to developing professional relationships with organisations and practitioners who want somewhere appropriate to direct people when specialist addiction support may be beneficial.

Employers & HR Teams

Alcohol, drugs, gambling and other addictive behaviours can affect an individual's wellbeing, attendance, performance and relationships at work.

Managers and HR professionals may recognise that someone needs help without having the specialist knowledge to provide that support themselves.

Pittmain offers an independent and confidential option for employees who may benefit from speaking with an addiction therapist.

Drink-Drive & Road Safety Organisations

For some individuals, a drink-driving incident can raise wider concerns about their relationship with alcohol.

Where someone wishes to explore their drinking further, Pittmain can provide therapeutic support focused on understanding patterns of alcohol use, recognising triggers and working towards sustainable change.

Pittmain's therapy is separate from statutory drink-drive rehabilitation programmes and is intended as additional support for individuals who want help addressing their alcohol use.

Counsellors, Therapists & Wellbeing Professionals

Counsellors, therapists and wellbeing professionals may encounter clients whose addiction needs require more focused support or fall outside their own specialist area.

Pittmain provides another route to support for people experiencing difficulties with alcohol, drugs, gambling and other addictive behaviours, giving professionals somewhere appropriate to refer or recommend clients when addiction-focused therapy may be beneficial.

Solicitors & Professional Advisers

Professionals may encounter clients whose circumstances are being affected or complicated by alcohol, substance use, gambling or another addictive behaviour.

Pittmain provides an independent source of support for individuals who want help addressing these difficulties, allowing professional advisers to remain focused on their own areas of expertise.

Community, Health & Support Organisations

People accessing community, health and support services can experience addiction alongside relationship difficulties, financial pressures, emotional distress or other challenges.

Pittmain welcomes conversations with organisations looking for an additional source of addiction support for individuals who may benefit from specialist therapy.

Meet James Bell

Pittmain is led by James E. Bell, an addiction therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals affected by addiction and related mental health difficulties.

James provides a personal and non judgemental approach, taking time to understand the individual, the challenges they are experiencing and what they would like to change.

Addictions Therapist (SMACCPH)
Fully Accredited Addictions Diploma

When an organisation recommends someone for addiction support, it is important to feel comfortable about the person they are being directed to. Individuals contacting Pittmain speak directly with James and have the opportunity to discuss their circumstances confidentially before deciding on the appropriate next steps.

Addiction & Wider Mental Health

Addiction does not always exist in isolation. Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and other emotional difficulties can sometimes sit alongside addictive behaviours or contribute to patterns that become difficult to control.

Pittmain takes a personalised approach that considers the wider circumstances surrounding an individual rather than focusing solely on the addictive behaviour itself.

Where appropriate, therapy can explore these underlying difficulties alongside practical strategies for managing triggers, changing patterns of behaviour and supporting longer term wellbeing.
