Is it Pain or is it Peace ? Opiate use

Opiate addiction begins with the use of prescription painkillers like codeine or dihydrocodeine or illicit drugs like heroin, which interact with the brain's reward system, producing euphoria and pain relief. Repeated use alters brain chemistry, increasing tolerance and dependence. Over time, users require higher doses to achieve the same effect, leading to compulsive drug-seeking behavior. Addiction disrupts personal relationships, impairs physical and mental health, and often results in financial instability. Withdrawal symptoms are severe, making quitting difficult. The cycle of addiction can lead to job loss, legal issues, and overdose risks, creating a ripple effect of societal problems, including strained healthcare systems and increased crime rates.
